UPS is also known as ¨The Big Brown Machines¨ for its famous trucks. Although the main activity of UPS concentrates on logistics it also is involved in business solutions for industrial manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, retailing, IT as well as financial solutions.
Company structure
UPS management is centralized in the president, head in the company, with a few vice presidents who control the rest of the managers as operations go on.
UPS is principally departmentalized into 5 groups:
- functional: grouping jobs by functions performed.
- product: division by product line.
- geographical: groups according to territory and geography.
- process: groups jobs on the basis of customer or product flows.
- customer: groups jobs according to customer types and needs.
