I always wanted to live in an international country, with a diversity of cultures, where everyone is accepted as he/she is and at least be more tolerable than many conservative countries. Unfortunately, I’m pretty aware that such dream has no path to reality, even if we had a country with similar characteristics many other bad things would bloom, life with too different people will cause a lot of controversy and it would be a really hard job for politicians.

However, nowadays most countries have emigrants, and we probably could say we are in a converging era, converging economies, converging financial systems, converging cultures… many things are converging globally and making every place more and more heterogeneous. Speaking in a smaller magnitude, people are everyday more aware of things happening internationally, they even get interested in foreign affairs, get married with foreign people or even play soccer for world’s peace. morally, the world in general is more aware of human ethics and rights, plus advances in technology make us live better and hate less. This way, coexistence is easier.

With this I don’t want to make an statement of the good or the bad in the world. As everything it has its pros and cons, of course there are a lot of problems and issues I didn’t mention but I think we are doing well enough to cite it. Additionally I personally think this is a very interesting topic for debating, so I hope people can write some thoughts for a better and more tolerable world without going deep into politics (please).

Here, to pull the trigger I’m gonna ask you for some countries you consider more international, more heterogeneous and better to live as an emigrant. Among my candidates are:

United States

United Kingdom

Germany

Thailand

Canada

Norway

Those are my personal selection, I chose them looking at some data such income per capita and emigration flows. Futurely, I’m going to make a poll with the most chosen countries.

One world, one dream.
